Faculty-Led Programs

Faculty-led programs include May Term and Summer programs that range from three to 10 weeks, serve a large number of majors, and span the entire globe. On a faculty-led program, you are part of a group of UT students who take a course abroad led by a UT faculty member.

Both immersive and intensive, short term faculty-led programs give students an in-depth look at subjects such as biotechnology in Singapore, global health in Costa Rica, government policy in Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, and documentary photography in Ireland.

May Term Faculty-Led Programs

May Term Faculty-Led programs feature courses that take place during the May sub-term of the spring semester.  Any undergraduate student enrolled fulltime will not pay additional tuition for their course taught on a May Term Abroad program. Additionally, May Term Abroad credits are not counted towards the 17-credit maximum course enrollment limit.  Explore the full list of May Term programs and learn about the details of each program including course summaries, faculty instructors, costs, dates, deadlines, and program coordinator contact information.

Summer Faculty-Led Programs

Summer Abroad faculty-led programs take place during one or more of the UT summer sessions. Explore the full list of summer programs and learn about the details including course summaries, faculty instructors, costs, dates, deadlines, and program coordinator contact information.

Special Discounted Tuition Rates

Academic courses taught on summer faculty-led programs are also eligible for a special discounted tuition rate. Undergraduate Texas resident and non-Texas resident tuition will be offered at a reduced rate of 25 percent off fall and spring semester costs, so a three credit hour course results in a tuition rate of $500 for Texas residents and $2,000 for non-Texas students.
