FAQs About the CFR & Document Upload System

There is no deadline to complete the CFR, and you do not need to submit it until you are admitted to the University. Once you are admitted, please upload the CFR so that we can issue your student visa documents (I-20 or DS-2019) in a timely matter. You will need this document in order to apply for your student visa which may take some time to process. We will not be able to issue your I-20 or DS-2019 until we have received your CFR.

Please note that the CFR for Exchange Students is different. Visit the Exchange Student page for more information.

If your bank will not sign the CFR, then please include supplementary documentation with the CFR. This can be a monthly bank statement or a letter from the bank stating the amount of funds available. Please note that all supplementary documentation must be in English or accompanied by an official English translation. If the bank account belongs to someone other than you (for example a family member), then be sure to have the account owner sign the CFR on page two under "Sponsor's Statement of Financial Support." All pages of your financial documentation should be saved as one PDF file and uploaded as such. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

No, International Student & Scholar Services will only accept financial documents that have been submitted through the document upload page. We cannot accept any documents that are sent by mail, fax or email (any documents sent by mail/fax/email will be destroyed in a secure manner).

You may upload your financial documents multiple times. However, we ask that you try to limit the number of times you submit documents and carefully submit your complete documents in one upload.

Only PDF documents are accepted. Please put all your pages into one PDF document rather than uploading each page individually.
