Texas Excursions

Monthly excursions provide an opportunity for international students and scholars to visit the great activities Austin and surrounding cities have to offer.

The program matches international students and scholars with members of the Austin community for an intercultural exchange of customs and lifestyles.

Partnerships to Advance Language Study and Culture Exchange (PALS)

PALS is a Registered Student Organization, sponsored by the International Office. International and domestic graduate and undergraduate students are all welcome to join PALS.  Every fall and spring, PALS coordinators pair students together for the purposes of cultural exchange, plan a variety of events and outings in the city, and facilitate the formation of Language Circles for members to practice conversation skills in English and a variety of other languages. Global Living Learning Community

The Global Living Learning Community is a chance to bring together UT students from different countries and cultural backgrounds in one residence hall. LLC members commit to actively engaging in cultural exchange activities a few times each month of residence. Activities can include group meals highlighting recipes of the residents' home countries, attending lectures or public talks on relevant topics, or outings throughout the city.

A reception is hosted in the Spring to honor those international students who are graduating from The University of Texas at Austin.

Scholar Social Hour

ISSS hosts Scholar Social Hour for international scholars the first Wednesday of every month at Austin's Pizza. Come meet other international scholars and have fun.
