Kaust Summer Research Program

The KAUST Gifted Student Program (KGSP) is administered by Saudi Arabia’s Saudi Initiatives organization at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). The program focuses on integrated research in science and engineering, especially with regard to Saudi needs and development. The KGSP Summer Research Program at the University of Texas at Austin is a customized research experience that includes lab experience, research support workshop, a faculty and graduate student panel presentation/Q&A, industry visits, and a poster session workshop.

The KGSP Summer Research Program at the University of Texas at Austin is customized research experience designed for KGSP undergraduate students. The program will provide enriching research opportunities including: lab experience, research support workshop, a faculty and graduate student panel presentation/Q&A, industry visits, and poster session workshop.

Program Objectives:

  • Expose students to various aspects of research for science inquiry
  • Develop a better understanding of the research process and current research topics in the various STEM fields
  • Acquire skills for independent and intelligent experimental design, execution and analysis
  • Identify a research proposal, create and give a poster presentation
  • Provide insights of internal working environment and careers in STEM industries

Social and Cultural Activities

Experiencing another culture firsthand is a critical component of an international exchange. To that end, the KAUST Summer Research Program includes:

  • Take a Campus Walking Tour
  • Explore the City of Austin on a Tour
  • Learn about the Library
  • Visit the Texas State Capitol Building
  • Enjoy a Boat Cruise at Lake Austin
  •  Arrival Date: May 21
  •  Orientation: May 22
  •  First Class Day: May 23
  •  Last Class Day: June 23

$3000 Program Fee includes:
