Austin is one of the United States fastest growing cities, attracting more than 100 new residents every day. You are going to love it here.
The City of Austin is situated on the banks of the Colorado River in the heart of central Texas, known as the Hill Country. Rolling hills dotted with lakes and streams provide a beautiful setting for the downtown capital area and UT. The Capitol building, iconic UT Tower and downtown office buildings create a skyline, which reflects the city itself – a center for government, education, and commerce. Austin is known for its variety of artistic venues, which feature live music, dramatic performances, and artistic exhibitions.
Austin has a warm (humid, subtropical) climate with an average of 220 days of sunshine per year, perfect for recreational activities including swimming, cycling, hiking, and other outdoor activities. Since the program will take place during summer months, you should expect hot weather.
During the summer months, you may expect the average highs to be in the 90s-100s °F (32-40 °C) and for evening temperatures to be in the high 70s °F (23–26 °C). Check the Austin weather forecast for a more up-to-date forecast of Austin weather.
