The International Office is committed to provide equal opportunity to study abroad to all students including the ones who are uncertain of their migration status. We continue to work tirelessly to ensure equal access to study abroad. Through our Undocumented Students Initiative, we seek to enable this population of students in fulfilling their dream of studying abroad. Therefore, we have developed custom advising and resources for students at an institutional level.
On a federal level, the Department of Homeland Security has started to accept applications for Advance Parole for "education, humanitarian and work purposes" for students who have been granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). This process is complicated and we strongly encourage students to seek counsel with an immigration attorney before considering study abroad as an option.
