Sarayu Adeni is the senior program coordinator for global health at Dell Medical School and Texas Global’s Global Initiatives. She is the Division of Global Health's liaison at Texas Global and facilitates activities involving faculty, residents, students and partners at The University of Texas at Austin and in Kenya and Mexico.

Sarayu earned her MPA in Development Practice—an interdisciplinary degree in sustainable development—from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs. During that time, she completed her graduate consultancy with The Earth Institute’s K-12 education initiatives in Ghana, and her internship with the Global Coalition to Protect Education from Attack at Human Rights Watch. Sarayu has a Bachelor of Journalism and a Bridging Disciplines Certificate in International Studies from The University of Texas at Austin. She also studied abroad in Chile with the School for International Training. In 2020, Sarayu successfully completed the yearlong NAFSA Academy for International Education and was awarded the 2021 NAFSA Region III Rising Star Award.

A Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Dominican Republic ’10-’12), Sarayu is a current board member of the nonprofit GirlForward, which serves internationally displaced and refugee youth resettled with their families in Austin and Chicago. She previously worked for the Austin non-profit EcoRise and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. She loves creative writing, nature, South Indian classical dance, working with students, practicing her languages—Spanish and Hindi—and traveling with family and friends.
