Category 2 – High Risk: Entire country of Guinea

The risk ratings above are in accordance with the UT Restricted Regions List. If you are traveling to this location, please refer to the guidelines for Requesting Travel Authorization to Restricted Regions.

In response to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, effective immediately UT System requires that proposed travel to Liberia, Guinea, and Sierra Leone be reviewed by the International Oversight Committee (IOC), the Executive Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs, and the President. Any student, faculty, or staff requests for travel may take several weeks for review. The IOC strongly recommends that no travel arrangements be made prior to final approval.

Once approved, travelers will be required to purchase their airfares through one of the UT contracted travel agencies. The agency’s service fee will be paid by Travel Management Services and the traveler will be registered with International SOS by the agency (the traveler will not need to manually register).
