Egypt

Overview of Risks

Anti-government demonstrations have not been on the same scale as those that precipitated the January 25 Revolution, resulting in the ousting of former president Hosni Mubarak.  However, these demonstrations continue to occur in the capital Cairo. Activists sometimes try to incite anti-government or anti-foreigner feeling after Friday prayers.  The possibility for sporadic unrest remains. The Government of Egypt continues to enforce a country-wide curfew.
