CONNECT. INVEST. EMPOWER.
In 2014, The University of Texas at Austin had the honor of hosting the inaugural Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, the White House's signature effort to invest in the next generation of global gamechangers.
During their six weeks on the Forty Acres, 25 emerging entrepreneurs from Sub-Saharan Africa were immersed in academic coursework, community service, and networking opportunities designed to educate them on business and entrepreneurship. With the help of UT-Austin and its community partners throughout the state of Texas, these young scholars were able to develop the skills they need to shape the future of their continent—and the world.
Next year's cohort needs your help to get here.
We are currently at a critical point in our fundraising campaign, and we need your support to bring the Mandela Washington Fellowship program back to Texas for years to come.
By joining forces with UT's International Office, sponsors of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders will have the opportunity to:
- Connect with the members of this talented group and hear their stories.
- Invest in the next generation of leaders who are changing communities through sustainable development.
- Empower budding entrepreneurs to transform an idea into a marketable business plan.
