The University of Texas Board of Regents requires that all international students have medical insurance. For this reason, enrollment in the UT Health Insurance Plan is automatic at the time of registration, and the cost of the policy is included in the student’s tuition and fee bill. Information Sessions regarding UT Health Insurance are offered during Fall Orientation, and details regarding the UT Health Insurance Plan will be given at the required Immigration Briefing & Check-in.

Students may be eligible to waive the cost of the student health insurance plan if they are able to present an alternative insurance policy that meets the basic requirements of the UT Health Insurance Plan.
