Spring–Summer**The cost of insurance for the Spring & Summer semesters is reflected on the Spring semester tuition and fee bill. One Week Supplemental InsuranceSupplemental One-Week Insurance (08/25/12 through 08/31/12):
Students who will enroll in the Academic Health Plans/BlueCross BlueShield (AHP/BCBS) student health insurance plan during the Summer semester, but will convert to UT Staff Insurance in the Fall semester due to an academic assignment, will experience a one-week lapse of insurance coverage as the AHP/BCBS plan ends one week before the UT Staff Insurance begins. If an accident, injury or illness were to occur during this one week period, students would not have insurance to cover the medical expenses. To facilitate this one week lapse in insurance, ISSS has negotiated with AHP/BCBS to create the One Week Supplemental Insurance Plan. This automatic enrollment in one-week supplemental insurance is only for students, dependents must order it separately. See Frequently Asked Questions about the One Week Supplemental Insurance Plan. Special ConsiderationNeed health insurance for your spouse? For about the same price, your spouse can get insurance and an ESL class! As an F-2 or J-2 visa holder, your spouse can take an ESL class at the UT affiliate rate, and qualify for the student insurance rate. This is a great opportunity for them to improve their English language skills and to make friends! For more information, please visit the UT ESL website or email esl@www.utexas.edu. |
