In 1990, UT students elected to pay $1 each semester on their fee bill to collect money to support scholarships for students studying abroad and incoming international students. In 1994, UT students again voted to support international opportunities on campus and raised the fee from $1 to $3. Of the $3, one dollar is place in an endowment for future use and $2 per student is distributed annually to students.
Awards range from $1000 - $1500. Award announcements are made by April 1 and October 31 of each year.
